Every month we meet together at the Alma Road Community House, 200 Alma Road, St Kilda East. These ‘In-Person Autistic Meetups’ are advertised on our Meetup account where you can RSVP for each Meetup.
Our In-Person Autistic Meetups are currently on hiatus, but should resume in May 2023.
All our Meetups are free; and if we are talking about a book, you do not have to have read it prior to attending the meeting. There will be questions you can still answer even if you haven’t read the book.
There will be tea / coffee and cake available. You do not have to participate in the group if you would rather not, you are welcome to listen if you would prefer.
When you first arrive we will say ‘hi’ to you and include you into the group; we aim to be as welcoming as possible, you will not be alone. However we do not do ice breakers as many find these uncomfortable, instead we launch straight into the questions and that’s how we get to know each other (but you do not have to answer any questions if you’d rather not).
There are always new people at every Autistic Book Club meeting so you will not be the only one. We try and set-up each book club meeting so that all participants are as comfortable as possible
If you would like to leave early, you can, and if you cannot make it on time, that’s ok too. You can attend as many or as few of the in-person meetings as you like.
